Miley Cyrus fan causes security breach

It seems to be becoming the norm for over enthusiastic fans to get up close and personal with their idols by breaking through security ranks.

After incidents involving Rihanna being pulled into a New York crowd during a performance for TV in the city, and only on Thursday Justin Bieber was at the centre of a “fan attack” which actually turned out to be an undercover cop protecting the singer from other fans, Miley Cyrus is the latest star to have a security breach.

The singer was performing her hit The Climb when one of her fans managed to jump onstage with her and got an arm around the singer. Her security team were immediately on stage to pull the girl off Cyrus, who was visibly shaken by the girl getting on stage.

In video footage of the incident, Cyrus can be heard saying “oh my god” over and over before being escorted from the stage by her team. A few minutes later the concert continued.

It could just be me – and security is important, but there is a certain amount over over-reacting to such incidents. Anyone watching concert footage from the 70s would see many times fans jumped on stage to give their idol’s a hug and kiss, and the singer’s would simply laugh it off and continue on with the concert while security calmly moved the person back. None of this rushing and “down down down” business. Stars today just can’t seem to cope.

Captured on a YouTube video, a young fan can be seen jumping the stage and running up to Miley.

The girl threw her arm around the singer before a security guard ran up to them and tried to pull the fan away. The security guard dropped the girl off stage before grabbing Miley and rushing her backstage.

A shocked Miley could only say “Oh my God” twice into her microphone during the chaos.

We wonder what kind of trouble the young Miley fan is in now?
