What happens in Vegas...

They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but for those that have not yet visited I’d like to let you in on a few little secrets and guide you through the best three days of your life you have not yet lived!

I'm not a gambling man, but...

It’s been long considered the gambling capital of the world, but if you’re not interested in casinos does that make it any less worth a visit? NO! Being that I’m not a gambler I got away with only losing $100 at the Blackjack table, a familiar story could follow about how I was inevitably up to $250 after five minutes and then had lost it all five minutes later but that’s not going to be the main focus of my story because it’s actually the part of Vegas that I care least about.

Since the wonderful film ‘The Hangover' I think we've all imagined just how crazy can any one night be! And if you’re going to have an experience of that sort then Vegas, as the film would suggest, is the best place to find it. Subsequently there were no tigers, no heavyweight boxing champs, no tooth-loss, no marrying of strippers or finding of babies in cupboards but there was enough action to last me quite some time.

Letting my hair down

My adventure was about letting my hair down, blowing off some steam and all of the other proverbials you can think of. As an increasingly busy single parent I know only too well the value of getting some 'rest' or at least switching off from everything when things become particularly hectic. After the event I don't write this feeling particularly 'fresh', like I may of had I had gone to a health spa, but I do feel like I blew away quite a few of the cobwebs with my insatiable appetite for a good dance and my parent-given talent of operating on very little sleep.

As the rest of the cabin on Virgin Atlantic flight to Gatwick sleeps, I find myself reminiscing on the best moments from a very short three-night holiday that feels a bit like it could have been three weeks’ worth of fun. Let’s start with the days... Shopping in the malls, going to lunch, maybe watch a matinee show if you want but the only place I wanted to be was at the pool party.

For those that are old enough to remember 'The Grind' on MTV, it is an eye popping mix of hot girls, fit guys, amazing music and stupid amounts of alcohol served by hostesses with more collective shape than you get at Harlow leisure zone. I managed to go to one every day I was there, the one at the Palms, Wet Republic at MGM and Rehab at Hard Rock were all equally as memorable for being so ridiculously cool in every way.
