There is no car that they've made yet to have ride quality of Camry and handling of Mazda3. Because this is impossible. Mazda3 is a great suspension setup for those who wants more handling and ready so sacrifice some comfort. Still, Mazda3 suspension is far beyond your 1990 Civic in comfort. Civic was even harsher in my test. As far as Cruze and Elantra comparison... Do they drive as well as Mazda3?? I didn't think so.

This is over-generalization. What do they leapfrogged? - Civic and Corolla? Mazda3 also MUCH better than those two. Material quality in Mazda3 is great for $16K car. Fit and finish is outstanding. The center stack design may be not of the latest wave of design but it didn't mean to, I think. It looks more German-esque rather then Asian.

Below eye level - what is it?

There is nothing even close to feel of Civic in the front row of Mazda3. Civic DOES feel like a bus thanks to it far sloping windshield. But nothing like this happens in Mazda3. Moreover, Mazda3 windshield feels small thanks to dash which grows up.

The real problem - Mazda3 reflects things. During the day it reflects the dash in the driver's mirror. At night I can see my radio in the windshield and also when I ran short on fuel and yellow warning light came on it reflected in the windshield. don't ask me, "how"? The light sits deep inside that motorcycle dash and it projects into the glass, covering the dash and then up into the windshield. And generally, this motorcycle dash is not good to me because when I found comfortable position for the steering wheel, I no longer can easy see my turn signals. These are the real problems, not made up of comparison to other cars with different talents.
