Decadent Diva: Not Your Average Candy Store
Most kids dream of owning a candy store, a sugary confectionary where they can eat all the treats they want. Most kids though, don't actually take their dream into their own hands like Michelle Ballou did. She's been making chocolate since she was eight to sell to her neighbors. Today she takes her early cultivated talent to the newest sweet tooth venture in Ballston Spa: Decadent Diva.
Ballou says she had the idea for Decadent Diva last year, while recovering from a car accident. The accident left her unable to walk for some time, but today she can be found bustling around her new gourmet chocolate store making everything on site with delicious Belgian chocolate!
Try the chocolate bark, the double dipped chocolate Rice Krispie Treats, or chocolate covered marshmallows. Ballou also has traditionally delectable chocolate covered strawberries, but her special chocolate covered potato chips are a twist of sinful deliciousness.
If you can't decide what to have when you amble into the shop located at 241 Miton Street in Ballston Spa, try a Decadent Diva best seller. Savor the Golden Pyramid Truffle which Ballou describes as "a buttery caramel enrobed in milk or bittersweet chocolate in the shape of the pyramid."
As if that didn't sound tasty enough, she also recommends the Aztec Stripes truffle: "a semi-sweet ganache with chili pepper and cinnamon enrobed in semi sweet and chocolate topped with colored cocoa butter stripes." Yum! Ballou will also happily accept requests!
Decadent Diva offers chocolate for every occasion; come in this week for chocolate covered bacon for Father's Day! Ballou will happily take requests for special orders for everything from chocolate favors for your summer wedding, or a chocolate platter for your corporate retreat.
