Good to go: An art filled weekend

LAS CRUCES — Catch the monthly Ramble through downtown museums and galleries from 5 to 7 p.m. today and stay for other events, including a Carl Coker exhibit with an artist's reception from 6 to 9 at the Amaro Gallery and Winery, 402 S. Melendres St., or visit the Howling Coyote Coffee House open mic at 7 p.m. today in its new location at the Rio Grande Theatre.

Take a road trip to Silver City or Columbus or the new Spaceport America site. Gather the kids for a Saturday evening Sky Safari at NMSU's Tombaugh Observatory, or go to the 10th annual Kids Kindness Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Young Park.

Take a Spaceport America Preview tour from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, beginning at three pickup sites: 30 miles southeast of Truth or Consequences, Elephant Butte Inn and at the BBVA in downtown T or C. The Silver City Museum, 312 W. Broadway in Silver City will be open until 8 p.m. today for family activities, play readings and refreshments. The 10th annual Kids Kindness Day runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Young Park on south Walnut Street. Join in on games, prizes, free food, a car and motorcycle show, kickboxing and live entertainment. For more info and volunteer opportunities call (575) 496-1359.

Country legend Ronnie Milsap will perform at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday at the Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts, 108 Spencer Road, in Alto, N.M.
